I graduated with Masters degree in CS in December 16. Due to laziness of the DSO at my school, I got my EAD with starting date of 1st March. I had a temporary unpaid internship of 10 days. Then I got a full-time job starting on 1st May. They trained me for 1 month but they terminated the contract on June 6th. I still have 1 month of unemployment period left.

   I have couple of options.

      1) Immediately join a smaller tech consulting company. They have a  training period for 4-6 weeks. I plan to join them to buy some time and try for better companies

      2) Apply online during this month and get into a better company.

  1. Is risky since companies usually take more than a  month for the entire interview phase: hr interview, onsite interviews, background check and then the offer. If I don’t get an offer by end of this month, I will have used all my unemployment days and I will be in serious trouble

  1. Join the temporary consulting company for training. This will prevent accrual of unemployment days. Meanwhile apply for other companies and If I get a better a offer, join them. Only problem is that in my work history there will have a lot of short work experiences. I will be applying for OPT extension in November 2017. Will this lead to an issue when I apply for OPT Extension?

I am totally confused and helpless in making this life-changing decision. Can someone please suggest the right thing to do?
