:help:

Preparation seems to be the key to success so I need some more information on what exactlly to send in for the K-1 visa.

I-129f - Initial visa request form. Should I include some proof and save the majority for later.

As for visit proof....we only have 2 or 3 photos of us together(wasnt thinking of this process during visit)

I also have a copy of the letter he sent me so I could get the visa to come visit

Will a copy of my passport stamps be considered? I also have all airtravel reciepts but

because I work in the travel industry they dont look the same. Could this be a problem?

G-325a........no questions here......

I-134 - I have collected the last 5 years income tax forms I also have a letter from my employer

and another from Human Resources. Do I need to include bank statements or shall I do this later.

Ok here is where my nerotic tendancies come to light...Phone calls....we speak almost everday...he calles me...I call him HOWEVER.... I call from work, my home phone, my cell phone etc...we even Text message each other too. Also I have purchased several phone cards most of which I've saved but I dont have an actual log of calls (one I just kept reloading it for 120 mins for $25 and it dosent have a log)will any of these help?....we email almost everyday....I have saved over 300 emails we have sent back and forth. Question: Instead of printing a stack of emails I can print screen and get my log of emails with a date time stamp on each header. I was just going to print a couple and include the log is that sufficent? Next, we "talk" several times a week via instant messaging. I have saved every im converstation we have ever had right from the beginning, well over 100. Sometimes we talk for one hour other times several hours. Some have the day/time stamp others dont. One time can be over 13 pages of "talking". Will these be considered?

I am leaving in about three weeks for another visit and am taking my son too...Should I wait until after this visit to have additional "proof" or should I submit what I have now just to get the process started.....

Lastly, Segun has collected all of his documentation and he got a police check done. Should we save the police check for another time or is it only good for a few months?

Well thats all for now...

Thanks for any help......

Hi Neya,

A very big step in submitting the Form I-129F form now.It is very important you put evidence of your meeting with your fiance within the past 2 yrs. Proof of ongoing relationship would be done later at the interview stage.

What you will want to do also is get a I-129F cover page and list all the documents you are sending in.(check the example form section) on the VJ page.

Travel itineries are important,

Passport stamp pages are also important. It shows you actually went to Nigeria(Arrival and Departure).

Photos are also important. As much as you can gather especially showing both of you.(Don't worry if it is 2 or 3)Just submit what you have. You should take more when you travel again with your son. Make sure it is dated. You can print out more negatives to use for the interview process once it is approved first.

If you can also get 2 or 3 letters written up till the time you submit the application i.e showing dates from when you started dating and maybe till now. That would be great.

2-3 copies of e-mails that you send to him. This can also be done at the interview stage.

Phonecards would also be great.(Not a whole lot)

IM conversations is also acceptable. Not too much. You don't want to bore the Adjudication officer.

Also, make copies of all the pages in your U.S passport and also submit.

Make separate copies of the passport stamps and put it on top of the whole passport page copies

The I-134 form should be saved for later and dated close to the INTERVIEW DATE once it is set and if your petition gets approved which it will by God's grace.

Leave the police certificates for later for the INTERVIEW.You still got time.

Hope this info works. Other people might have more input.

All the best. And you don't have to go to Nigeria again to get more proof. You already have more than enough.

Piggy-backing on Olutaya..

somewhere in the process I was advised to take pictures near landmarks in the SO's country along with pictures showing us with family members and such. I had the family chief write us a congratulatory letter acknowledging having met me and accepting me in to their tribe. On the bank side, I had added him on one of my credit cards which he showed when he went for the interview. This is up to your discretion and comfort. I kept copies of the hotel receipts, meals orderdered at the hotel, airline tickets and on and on. I needed these items for business purposes so I just made copies for immigration when the time came. Get copies of any certificate you can find and bring them back to the US with you so you can have them to file.

The longer it takes to introduce yourself the less you've actually accomplished

Neya,

I know I am really late weighing in on this, but wanted to add on. I did include proof of our ongoing relationship with my initial I-129F form. I did this because mailing things to Senegal/Gambia in the past took a long time and I did want some things already included in our (USCIS) file just in case evidence I sent to my fiance got lost in the mail.

I also only sent a few pictures, the ones I felt captured us the best. And, I also went ahead and included phone records and emails. I really tried to limit the number of pages to read through yet show a good representation of our relationship (showing calls each month but not every single call and selecting an email from each of us for each month). I have read of people sending lots of evidence, some with the initial application, some for the interview. I think you should send whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Also, some documents must be within a certain time period of the interview. Since no one knows when the interview will be scheduled, you may want to hold off on the police certificate(s). Also, the I-134 should not be too old because your income may change. Some countries have a six month requirement, so they only will take these items if they are less than six months old.

Good luck to you and I wish you the best.

K.
