I only have a checking account, no savings. Do I just get the same thing as I would for a savings account? Which I believe to be just the date the account was opened, and any deposits i've made.

I assume my co sponsor has to get all the same relevant supporting documents?

for the checking account, put the monthly statements of 3-6 months to show the consistency of your income. I'd be extra helpful and highlight the deposits or something. A letter from the bank with the date the account was opened would be good, but our co-sponsor had some trouble getting it from one of his banks, so not really necessary.

The other documents you can include 1040's or better yet IRS transcripts.... And letter from employer is good too. All this applies to your co-sponsor too. I can't give you more details on what documents to send because each case is different and some supporting documents may not apply to you. Overall, your main goal is to show (be that with you or the co sponsor) that you have a consistent income that meets the requirements to sponsor the immigrant.
