I got a positive xray during the medical test at St. Lukes Hospital. As far as I know, I will have to undergo a 3 day sputum testing but this will delay me for 2 months while waiting for the final result. The nurse told me that the embassy will advice me further for the test or tests that i will have to undertake. I would like to ask anyone if there is someone who had a positive chest xray but instructed to undergo another exam to rule out TB aside from the very long diagnostic test sputum testing? Perhaps another Xray view like Apico lordotic which is a clearer xray exam to help in ruling out TB. Please share your experiences because 2 months delay is really too much for me because a lot of my documents will expire on October this year. Thanks!

Have you had TB before? Only Saint lukes can approve you. You can request another xray at Saint lukes they charge you for it though I believe 1000 pesos.

@Redheadguy03 I told them about having another view (the apico view) in which I am willing to pay for it but they refused and told me to wait what the embassy will ask me to do.. So I wonder if aside from the sputum test which will take 2 months delay, is there anyone who was asked to do another type of test? This is very crucial since I need to contact the shool to move me to another batch if I have to be delayed for 2 months because of the sputum test. I really hope that they can just offer another Xray view instead..

Have you previously had TB because if you have you could have scarring.

@Redheadguy03 I never had TB, I do annual chest xray to keep myself checked and sure about my health stat. I even provided them my old films for the past few years which are all normal. It's only in St. Lukes that I was informed that there is a finding in my chest Xray and it took them 2 weeks to finalize my result..

2 weeks? They do the results right away. That's odd.

@Redheadguy03 yes, I did the medical April 18 including the Xray, I called them last  April 27, and told me that the result will be sent to the embassy by May 3. But when I checked my status, it's already been sent today May 2.. and as expected, the embassy's declaration is that they need me to do more tests to assesses my health and they will further inform me about the next steps and I am guessing, it's the sputum test because the nurse told me before that their pulmo suggested a sputum test.. So i am wondering and hoping if the embassy will just order for me another Xray view so i wrote a post here if it's even possible to have an order for another Xray view instead of a time consuming sputum test..

That could be something else. The results are generally given right away. They didn't even directly say the sputum test, so you're kind of guessing. Just wait and see what they say.

Follow up question, from where will I know if I am candidate for sputum test at St. Luke's hospital? Will it be from the bupa medical services which is the partner agent of the embassy or should I call the st. Luke's hospital regarding the additional tests the embassy is stating in my account?

Thanks..

You should already know. When you do the medical you do the tests, go back the next day (sometimes the same day) and they stamp it immunization or sputum. If you get immunization you get your vaccinations and you're done, otherwise you do the sputum test right there at Saint lukes.

@Redheadguy03 as for me, they didn't inform me anything, I guess I just need to call them first thing in the morning.. thank you so much for your reply,

They inform you at the hospital. I feel like you may have missed a step at Saint lukes. Because they almost always give the results right there immediately. I've never heard of anyone waiting 2 weeks for results.

Good luck!
