Absolutely! It may be fine, but you covered your bases by getting one ordered. Hang on to it because you will probably need it down the road for your AOS or citizenship application. I know a UK person who had to order one following his citizenship interview over something that happened when he was 12, letting air out of the neighbors tyres or something silly. It all depends on the interviewer which we can't predict.

A fiancé visa is different. Nothing is done at NVC. K1s pick their own date when they are ready.

Yes... I have proof that I've ordered and paid for it, have the sworn statement using the information given by ACRO over the phone, and also a follow up email from ACRO, requesting my permission to provide the embassy with information if required, which I replied to. Hopefully that will be enough... As you say though, all depends on the interviewer on the day!
