Hey,

I was very suprised to recieve a letter form USCIS yesterday welcoming my fiance to the United States. In the letter they issued an alien number for her and said that she would receive the conditional green card in less than three weeks. Needless to say, I was shocked. My dealings with these people have never been that easy. So why no interview? Our case was sent to the california service center to speed things up, but i had no idea they would eliminate the interview!!! So my next question is can she begin looking for work??? I did fill out a EAD (I-795) do I really need to wait on this if I have the A-number and a letter from the Department of homeland security welcoming her to the United States. Finally, can she visit her family in EL Salvador If she has her conditional green card or must she wait for the permanent ten year card.

Thanks

Daniel

Lucky you - can't say I'm not jealous!

Some cases transferred to CSC are exempted from interviews, but who knows how they decide which.

Once you have the green card, you can work and leave/re-enter the country; you don't need EAD or AP.

But your letter isn't a green card, so you need to wait just a little longer. Also, to work, your fiancee will need a new SSN with DHS restrictions removed.

Congratulations on your good news!

Yes it is his wife. Our fiancee's (now our wives) had their interviews on Dec 5, 2006 in El Salvador. Our case was transfered to Sacramento for an interview and my wife has her GC approval and their's was tranfered to CSC and got automatic approval. I cannot complain. Digna (my Wife) got her approval after being in the country and married in less than 3 months. I think that Dan filed a month after me in Feb, and got automatic approval with no interview. My heart goes out to those that are not experiencing the same.
