Hi there! This will be my first time posting on this forum as I have been under a lot of stress already regarding this petition.

I am a US Citizen who filed for i-130 for my father in the Philippines. The petition has been approved, I have already paid both the $120.00 (AOS) and $325.00 (IV) fee, also completed the DS-260, mailed in all the required documentation to support my petition. I called NVC numerous of times regarding the status of my father's petition as we are on a deadline. Was advised by the lady I spoke with to write a letter to NVC requesting for expeditious process and so I did. Expedite letter was approved and they just sent the package to the US Embassy in Manila today. CEAC states "IN TRANSIT".

I have a couple of questions regarding this.

How long will it take to get to MNL?

Should I schedule my father for an interview already?

Should he go ahead and get his medical done?

He worked as a diplomat before and traveled/lived in the US and other countries, does he still need to do PDOS (Pre-Departure Orientation)?

I did not use the help of Immigration Lawyers, as everything is simply self explanatory and besides it saves me money. LOL...

Anyway, I really can't call NVC anymore as the paperwork is out of their hands.

Can anyone help me please by providing answers to my questions? I would really appreciate it.

I'm not sure about the Manila embassy, but for me, the "in transit" and "ready" status happened the same day :-) I'm not sure you'll be able to schedule the interview though before they receive your case.

Yes, you should be able to go do your medical.

I'll let someone else answer the last question, never heard of that before.

Good luck with your fathers interview :-)
