I would like to apply for citizenship, however, I'm behind on my home property tax, besides that, I meet all the qualification to be a U.S citizen, I need to know what would be the best path to take here? as mentioned in the checklist for N400 I need to submit a document that shows that i have filled my tax return and any payment plans to pay the taxes which make sense if I owe to IRS but for the property tax I don't know what I'm supposed to do? just to be clear I have filed all my tax returns. As I contacted my local property tax office last time they just told me to pay as much as you can. any help would be appreciated. Also, i asked a lawyer and she told me to answer NO to this question on n-400 "do you owe any federal state or local taxes that are overdue". Thanks

You clearly owe local tax, I have no idea how can you answer no to that question without first out lying. Either answer yes, or wait with your N-400 until you are not behind anymore.

If i answer yes to the question what else should i do to make sure i dont face any problems! Because the tax office for property tax dont have payment plan like IRS. Also I've been paying as much as i can every 3 or so month.
