Mailing address in Panama

I'm in the process of filling out the paperwork for the K1 visa. My fiancé lives in Panama and I'm having a hard time with the mailing address. She paid for a box through Correos y Telégrafos and I don't know what I should put down as the address. Would purchasing a box at Mailbox etc be better?

When we went through the K1 my fiancé's address was not a normal postal address which is much more common in the majority world than one might realize. Not sure how Panama is but in Nicaragua their addresses are something along the lines of " Kilometer 5.5 Pista la Solidaridad, colonia primera del mayo 25 varas al sur". Sometimes they're even more fun like if you ask someone their address they might tell you "7 blocks left from the claro wall by carretera Masaya, blue house" haha what?

Anyway the mail system is so crappy and unreliable when it comes to getting a letter to your house. So when it came time to expect the packet 4 I emailed the embassy and asked for an electronic copy which they supplied. Packet 4 for us was just a list of what to bring to the K1 interview.

 

I would pick whichever has more reliable mail service. I wonder if you can contact someone who went through the K1 in Panama and ask specifically how they received the packet. That may reveal to you whether a mailbox is even necessary. Good luck on your visa journey!
