hello

i was sending my form of ds-230 to u.s to choice of agent

had a doubt

my ex father divorced my mom long back and now in all my certificates he is not mentioned late including the passport but in my g-325 form my husb made me write late to his name

i want to remain consistent with his name as late in ds-230 form too but my question is that they ask the date when he died

can i just mention as UNKNOWN ?

will this create problem or should i write any date

pls advice ,

doc_cute,

Is your father dead? If not you should not write that he is. (He is not your "ex father" if he is your biological father. Dead or alive, loved or hated, saint or scoundrel, you biological father will always be your father.)

If he is dead, and you know the date, give the date. Even if you know only the year. If you do not know the answer to a question then 'unknown' is an appropriate answer, but only if you truly do not know.

Don't worry about an inconsistency with the G-325A. Even if the inconsistency is noticed, timely correction of a previous error is better than continuing the error.
