N400 interview IRS extension

Hi, 

I anticipate my N400 interview to be around June 2017.  I have few personal situations due to which i might have to apply for an IRS extension which would give me time till october 15th, 2017 instead of the deadline being as April 15th, 2017. 

I have a clean record of my past tax history.

 

Is it allowed to go to N 400 interview with an approved IRS extension ? If any one had any or a similar situation , please share your experience with the interview.
