Hi Guys,

I know from past experience that it usually takes the Consulate in VN about two weeks to respond to emails so I sent an interview inquire to them two days ago and they responded with this"

Thank you for your inquiry. Our records indicate that we have not received the completed form DS-230 from your fiancée. The interview is usually scheduled approximately 2 - 4 moths after we receive the form.

Please do not delete your original inquiry with all correspondence if you have further inquiries.

My fiancee dropped off Packet 3 at the Consulate on March 12 2007. I was expecting them to reply that they had recieved the DS-2001 and DS-230 however, an interview date had not been scheduled. It was a surprise to see that they have no record of it.

Does HCMC city usually not acknowledge reciept of Packet 3 until an interview is scheduled? Or should I have my fiancee re-submit Packet 3 again?

Anyone experience this before? Thanks in advance for all your help.

-Don

Id definitely have her call the consulate to get it straightened out. They usually make a record of it the day they receive it. Maybe she just filled the DS-230 out incorrectly and they sent a notice to her address that she may wait 4 weeks to get, or maybe they lost it altogether. Have her call and give your case number to them, they'll be able to fill her in.

I called the Consulate today and they said the same thing, that they have not recieved it. I am wondering if it may be sitting somewhere at a bottom of a pile that they have not scanned in yet.

Does the package get scanned in immediately once it gets to the Consulate? Or only when they actually get to it and schedule and interview date?

The day the consulate received the packet, they recorded it into their computer...at least that was with my case, and I'm sure a lot of others will say the same thing. The only thought that comes to mind is that your fiancee either, A. Never brought it in, B. Brought it to the wrong consulate, or, most likely, C. Since the consulate hires a bunch of idiot's, they lost it. Have her do another one and bring it in. If she doesn't, you'll just be delayed that much longer. Good luck, man. I was lucky in that they never lost any of my papers, but you sure read stories on VJ of that sort of thing happening.

Just fill out another set and personally take it to the Consulate. Don't worry about the lost package. Time is too precious to be wasted and debeating over where/how/whose fault it was to lose your file. Focus!

Here is the status on our case.

Linh received all the paperwork that I sent, including I-134, proof of relationship etc. yesterday. She took these papers to our attorney for them to review and the attorney called the consulate. The consulate told Linh that they had recieved Packet 3, however, an interview date had not been scheduled.

I called the Consulate again today and got the same thing "we have not recieved your Packet". I told my fiancee to call the consulate again from VN and she said the same thing that the atty said, "they have recieved our package, but no interview date yet"

It makes me wonder whether there are other numbers for the Consulate other than the one given on the US website. Also, I must get conflicting info. since they know I am the USC?

Last time I called the Consulate, they were aware that they sent an email to me letting me know of the status. I figured they aren't telling me the truth because I call too often.
