The US Embassy sent it via Cambodia mail to my wife's address (Packet 4). The Cambodia mail (Khmer Express or something like that) hired a moto driver to physically hand the mail to my wife. I gave him like five dollars. I was sick and tired of waiting for the email so I personally went to the US Embassy to get all my paperwork. They remember my face very well even after a few months of non-visitation. ROFL.

I got back. They request from me the past three year tax returns. It's not mentioned anywhere on the I-93 checklist about the returns or my W-2. Be prepared to receive unexpected news. I waited outside the embassy for 3 hours. I felt like I wasted 300 years of my life.

Congrats Dustin !

Can somebody who has the packet 3 e-mail attachment please forward it to me ? It would be greatly appreciated.

It appears that interviews being scheduled now are for the end of May http://cambodia.usembassy.gov/uploads/imag.../Appt022208.pdf .

I Would like to get my fiance on that list as soon as possible.

Unfortuneatley, my fiance does not have her passport yet. Did not think she would need it until the interview. So she will be going to Phnom Penh to get it ASAP.

I am wondering if she will be able to get her medical done before she has her passport in hand, since there is box on the med form for a passport # ?

Anything else she should do while in Phnom Penh ? Besides Passport, Medical and Police certificate. ?

Hello my Cambodian friends, and members of the Cambodian Community!

I am proud to make an announcement that will inspire you all.

Mr. Siv Sichan, a former UN Ambassador to the US for the most part of George W. Bush (President #43) administration just completed his memoir on how he escaped the killings fields of 75-76, and made it to the central power in Washington, D.C. He got his undergraduate degree from the University of Phnom Penh, and later received his Master's at Columbia University. Yes, that's right, Mr. Siv Sichan is a Cambodian.

He worked as a cab driver in NYC before he managed to get into politics. Can you believe that? Anything is possible!

This is his website, http://www.sichansiv.com/.

His book will be released on July 1, 2008. The title is called, "Golden Bones." Please, read up about this guy. He didn't escape the terror to join gangs like many early migraters from the land of refugees. I urge everyone who has Cambodian blood, or interested parties, pre-order his book!

All:

How long does it normally take for the Embassy to send Packet 3? I know that NVC has already sent my paper work and that it has been over a week now since they got it. I tried calling but can't seem to be able to talk to a real person. I e-mail them but their reply keeps putting me in circle. First tell me to contact USCIS, which confuses the heck out of me! After several e-mails later all they told me was to continue to wait! After waiting for 8 months with USCIS, it sucks to wait some more with the Embassy.

Did they sent Packet 3 to the US or to the beneficiary in Cambodia? I've heard stories where people don't receive anything at all! I've tried many times to ask them to send me via E-mail but they won't respond and just seem to ignore my request.

Thanks for any input!
