Posted this in wrong box :P

oxo cubes make sure you bring them

some decent stewing beef

brown it

then I just add carrotts leaks what ever I can get off

add potatos later on

and then thicken the gravy.

sure you will find a decent recepie on the net.

For dessert you should bring some of those heinz tinned puddings.

Have a buffet!

Get 100 toothpicks, some mature cheddar, a couple of jars of cocktail onions and some pineapple chunks. Get a grapefruit and cover it in tin foil. Then on the toothpicks place 1/2 inch square chunks of cheddar and alternatively pineapple or cocktail onions. Then stick the cheesy toothpick into the foild covered grapefruit to create a hedgehog/porcupine effect.

Serve this with the following: Quiche, baked chicken legs (about 20, served cold), sausage rolls (cocktail wieners wrapped in puff pasty is about as close as you can get here) and some limp lettuce ("the salad").

Enjoy!

how about toad in the hole with mash and onion gravy ???? Can't get more British than that....

To make it really really easy, buy the batter mix from the supermarket, throw a load of raw sausages in the bottom of a roasting dish, make-up the batter mix and pour it over the sausages and then pop in a hot oven for 45 mins.

For the mash, you can buy fresh ready made mash from all the supermarkets but the secret is to add some heavy (double) cream and a couple of knobs of butter and give it a whisk - tastes homemade every time !!

For the gravy, get yourself a Knorr or similar powdered onion gravy mix (you know the ones in the single sachets). To make it look authentic though chop up a small onion and gently fry it in butter. Then make up the gravy and add the onions.

A couple of tins of peas to sit on the side and you are done !! EASY !!

My favourite would be a traditional sunday roast with roast potatos and roast parsnips carrots cauli and good gravy - but all the suggestions are great - good luck

This is a good recipe for a sort-of shepherd's pie: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/re...tml?rsrc=search

Gotta love that Rachel Ray!

I made it and it was a big hit. I did add some extra seasonings to the meat when I cooked it (like some extra garlic salt and whatever else was in the cupboard).
