I-864 and I-864a scenario

I'm working on an I-864 and I-864a

I wrote the following letter to send with everything to the NVC:

The purpose of this letter is to describe my income calculations for forms I-864 and I-864A. I am employed full-time paid at an hourly rate of $10.00. If I work for 40 hours per week at $10.00 per hour, my current annual income will be $20800.00. I do work overtime, as shown in my recent paystub included in this package.

Also, my father ________ is co-sponsoring my wife, the principle immigrant ________ as shown on form I-864 and I-864A. My father is currently retired and receives Social Security benefits in the amount of $2051.00 per month and IRA distribution of $1500.00. I included evidence to support these amounts in this package. Combining these amounts, he currently has a monthly income of $3551.00, or $42612.00 annually. I have also included evidence of the IRA which has a current value of approximately $212823, which can easily be converted in to cash at any time.

Combining our current annual incomes, the total current annual household income is $63412.00. I thought it would be helpful to explain these amounts due to the nature of this case.

I just want to here some comments and opinions on it.

Remove the following statement:

Also, my father ________ is co-sponsoring my wife, the principle immigrant ________ as shown on form I-864 and I-864A.

Your father is not acting as a joint sponsor (the proper term when referencing an I-864). You are combining income with your father to meet the threshold.

Instead, you would write something to the effect of: "I am combining income with my father as shown on forms I-864 and I-864A."
