in 2011, I filed my IR-1, during that I got arrested but there were no charges filed. I got my police certificate after that for IR-1 and there was nothing mentioned about the arrest. When I filed for visa application in uk embassy, i remember mentioning the arrest. Anyways, I got my green card in nov 2011 and moved to the usa. My record has been clean. I still have to police certificate by the UK police but the arrest information including the date of arrest has been lost.

Now, I want to file my N400 and it does ask the following two information.

1- Date of arrest

2- If you have ever been arrested or detailed by any law enforcement officer for any reason, and no charges were filed, send : an original official statement by arresting agency or applicant court confirming that no charges were filed.

what should i be doing here?

Should I try to contact UK police to get the related information or what? Please suggest.

Thank you.

I'd recommend going to https://www.acro.police.uk/Subject_Access_Online.aspx and obtaining a police report. If you were arrested without a conviction there's not a lot report. I'd still put it on your N400 and mark the date as approximate as you can. Ideally look over you previous applications to USCIS for dates and match those on your N400. You may even want to include a brief cover letter to explain an arrest, no conviction and the fact the dates listed are an approximation.

Filed N400 11/7/16
