Greetings ? in the process of collecting all required documents for my husbands CR-1 visa application (I-130 is pending). We have a certified copy of his birth certificate that his parents acquired in '87. It is the long form (both mother and fathers names) but it isn't a copy-copy, but rather a handwritten copy of it. Also, his parents names are spelled wrong on it (fathers first name, mothers middle name).

Will this be OK? Thanks!

Interesting. I also have a handwritten UK birth certificate (born in 1974) but also a typed copy of the entry into the register. I sent the typed one for this process because the hand written one is not a long form one. Have you applied for a certified copy of the entry from GRO?

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!

Hmm..no?

I have a short form that is typed, but it doesn't look like it's the long form. The only way I know to tell it's long form is that it has both parents names, right? I was hoping to not order a new one as long as this one is ok, but wanted to make sure it is

It's certified so I don't see why not. Strange that it's not been typed.

If you use the expediated service it arrives in about 3 days. Just in case you decide to order one! I just did it for my interview :)

09/20/05 NOA1 received
11/22/05 NOA2 received (65 days)
12/05/05 NVC received application! (say 2-4 week wait)
12/13/05 Found out forms were sent to London on 12/08/05!
12/20/05 Packet 3 received!
01/11/06 Medical - Knightsbridge London
01/18/06 Sent back packet 3!
02/15/06 Received packet 4!

02/13/06 INTERVIEW DATE 03/22/06 AT 10.30AM!! - APPROVED

Married July 29th 2006!!

08/17/2006 Filed for AOS and EAD
08/26/2006 NOA1 received for both (dated 08/24/06)
09/06/2006 RFE email.....not sure what for yet!
9/07/2006 Biometrics completed
10/13/2006 Transferred to CSC!!

Monday! Feeling nervous now.

You'll be good, I was soooooooooo nervous, didn't need to be, the whole process is quick and painless.

The worst part is sitting in the Embassy!

I got asked such easy questions, the CO was very friendly and easy going, when she said 'Congratulations you're approved' I was thinking 'is that it!'
