My hubby and I were called for an interview on September 28. It was an easy interview, even though we were interviewed separately. The questions were mostly about all the moves we made. My hubby was interviewed first and then me. After my interview was over the officer told me my hubby will get his green card in about 10 days. Needless to say, 10 days came and went. But now I have a question. Was my hubby supposed to get an approval letter? The case status online never changes. It still says "Case was received". Now I'm worried because we have no way of knowing was he really approved, is he in AP or is the card in production. Today I can't even log in, the website has some kind of error. :crying:

Thanks! I think that is the case then....letter hasn't arrived. The IO definitely said my hubby will get his GC. He didn't say anything else, like checking with someone, etc.

Hi Indiana sweetie,

My husband and I also went to the interview recently and at the end of the interview our officer didnt tell us the outcome. He just said we will get mail within 120 days. Can you tell me a little bit more about how your officer just said you are approved. Did he not have to do further checking of the documents?

I am so angry that our interview was so short and superficial, and yet he didnt give us his decision...

Thanks

I will tell you everything I remember. We received two letters. One said the case was being reviewed by an officer and the other was an appointment for the interview for both of us. I brought a well-organized folder with all our co-mingled documents that were new since we filed, plus photos. Hubby was called first. He brought the documents and set them on the desk. He was asked where we were married and the age of my younger daughter and a lot of questions about all the places we lived and why we moved. Then hubby came out and I was called in.

I was asked where we were married, when my hubby immigrated and where we lived when he first came to America. Then he asked a lot of questions about all the places we lived and why we moved. All the time he was asking and I was answering, he was flipping through an extensive list of notes he had made, probably before the interview, and making notes on his notes. I noticed the files were probably untouched as the zipper was zipped and everything was as how I put it. I offered him the files and he said he didn't need them. I handed him the photos and he looked through them. He remarked that he could tell we like nature and I told him about some of the places we walk, and had walked before we moved. He asked to keep the photos and of course I said yes. Again I offered the file and again he refused. I handed him the 2 passport photos the letter requested (he didn't even ask for those) and he took them.

The interview was over, we stood up, and he said "B___ will receive his green card in about 10 days". I said thank you and as he walked me out I wished him a good day.

Thank you for your response. You had such a different experience than we did. First of all, they didnt ask me to bring two passport pictures to the interview. Secondly, we were interviewed together and were only asked very superficial questions that everybody could have answered, like where we met and where the other person works. I have such a bad feeling with this but on the other hand I cannot believe he didnt ask us more intimate details about our relationship. After almost 7 years of dating, we could have answered everything.

So if we get approved, why couldnt he tell us and why dont they need my passport pictures? And if we get declined, why didnt he ask more questions and separated us?

Lastly, he handed us a paper that says if we dont hear from them within 120 days we can send a request. I feel like this is exactly what's going to happen. I just dont understand it.

I'm wondering if your interview falls into the category of the random people that get called for an interview for no particular reason. Our interview seemed to be more of a specific question about all the moves we made and why. I think they wanted to make sure we made all these moves together. Because our stories matched, hubby was approved. I guess it was sort of like a mini Stokes interview, only not as hard. I read where someone else who made a lot of moves was questioned about them.
