getting documents to finance for the interview

Hi, my fiancé has an interview in 2 weeks and I will be attending with her.

I have a lawyer because I am busy and stress over these types of things. The lawyer basically did the paperwork and provided tips here and there.

She(the lawyer) is now saying I need to mail my documents to my fiancé.... affidavit, tax forms, proof of employment etc etc.

She is extremely direct and short and just says "you need to mail them now".

I am flying down for the interview so can I just carry them down and save the 50-100$? "you need to mail them now because the embassy wants that"

I don't really need to mail them right? I just need to have original documents. Is that correct? Why would it matter how they get there? As long as they are original and there with using the interview.

Thanks for your time.

BTW I will write up a review on the lawyer once this process is done. I should have a lot of info for people on that topic. Who it can hep and who should go at it alone etc etc.

What embassy?

Unless your embassy has specific requirements, ad long as your fiancé has the documents on the day of the interview - it should all be fine.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

^^ Sorry, thats how she said it. She meant that the US embassy in Peru wants the documents mailed to the fiance.

Yes I think the same thing. As long as my fiancé has the original documents the day of the interview it will be fine. That is what is needed.

My lawyer comes across as a bit of a robot and often doesn't explain reasoning. I am not sure if I was not understanding something or she just can't think outside the box and take into consideration that I am flying down there 3 days before the interview and can hand deliver the documents to my fiancé.

So thats why I asked. To make sure I am not misunderstanding something I need to do. The lawyer sure as hell can't explain anything outside of "the embassy wants that you send the documents to your fiancé now"
