Name order when booking a flight for my Vietnamese fiance

Her Vietnamese passport reads: <Last Name> <Middle Name> <First Name>

When I book her flight tickets to the U.S., how should I put her name? When I use the American style <First name> <Middle Name> <Last Name>, Vietnamese authorities have always given her a hard time. On one occasion, they made us repurchase a ticket because her flight ticket name was in the American style.

Thank you!

Sometimes you can't get the order right, no matter what, because of how the online booking form is presented. That happened with the most recent ticket I bought for my wife. Two options are to book directly over the phone with the airline, or book online then contact the airline to make sure the ticket will match the passport.

This is what ended up working for us:

1) I booked flights using the American method <First name> <Middle Name> <Last Name>.

2) At check-in with Vietnam Airlines, they corrected the name order so my fiance could get passed Vietnamese security at the airport.

3) For the connecting flights (Delta), a delta representative indicated name order did not matter and we had no issues.
