Hi all,

I'm a greencard holder and I've been working on bring my wife to the states. She went for the consulate interview in mid July this year, but we were missing some documents. The consulate received the documents on the first week of August. However, we were informed that they could not issue a visa because they ran out of visas for the fiscal year and we have to wait till the next fiscal year begins (1st Oct 2016) to be issued a visa.

The confusing thing is that the officer informed my wife that the candidates interviewing in October will have priority over her. It sounds like we have to wait for someone to "give up" the visa for her to get it, so who knows when she will get the visa. Anyone knows if this is true and how these kind of cases are handled? Thanks in advance for your input.

I am in the same boat:-(

My interview was done in August (PD of Sep'14 and approved by the CO) at Mumbai consulate and received the 221(g) later stating the same "No VISA number available". It was also mentioned that I will be contacted once the VISA is available.

It is October already,but yet to hear back from anything from the consulate :-(
