Affidavit of support

Hi i pls. help me. Is it ok to send the affidavit of support and other relevant documents to NVC before paying fees? I have already applied for the DS 261 but I have to wait 2 or three weeks according to instructions. I was just wondering if it's ok to send the documents before applying for DS260, which is the visa application?

Hi there! After paying the AOS fee, you can go ahead and send your AOS & IV documents to save time. I also suggest calling NVC and reviewing your DS-261 so that you can have the IV fee unlocked. Once the IV fee shows "PAID" you can unlock and fill out the DS-260.

Thank you for the response. I already paid the AOS fee but the payment is still in process and i should wait 2 to three days before it can be seen? is it ok to send the receipt while it is still processing? thank you

I would suggest waiting until your AOS fee appears as PAID before sending your documents. It only takes a day or two anyway. While waiting, you can gather and organize your documents and triple check everything to make sure you did not miss anything. Or you can find a sample of the DS-260 and familiarize yourself with the questions that will be asked.
