Are Papers in Order at Tunisian Consulate? [split topic]

Hello-

My wife is still at the consulate processing. They took her documents (Medical record, police certificate etc), they conducted the interview and according to her everything went well. At the end, they took her passport and they gave her a receipt to come back next week for the visa.

After a week, she went back to the US Embassy in Tunisia and they informed her that her CR1 visa is still not approved yet and she needs to come back next week.

We both freaking out and we made sure that all the papers are in order. Is this something normal and part of the administration process? Anybody familiar with this or has been through this before?
