Anyone expats in South Florida?

Hi! Not sure if this is the right place to post ....

I'm a South African female that grew up in London and have recently moved to South Florida to marry my love! I've been here since May and while I'm waiting on my EAD I'm having a hard time acclimating - to the weather, to Floridians, to our first year of marriage, to in laws, everything! I could really do with some local friends. Any homesick Brits in the house? Or anyone in need of a friend or looking to share a motivational/ success story?

Have you tried joining a church.library, check out around town events in local newspaper?,

you will get over it, take a class at the community college, and google a Brit restaurant close

to you to visit. good luck

I don't know where about in SoFla you are but there is a British grocery store in Fort Lauderdale. : http://www.pondhoppers.net/

On top of having most of the stuff you're missing, there might be a events board.
