Hoping someone can help. I've just received an email requesting my original divorce decree absolute, this was shown at the embassy and they took a copy of it. My fiancee's was missing from the packet they received and I've already sent that to them. Is there a contact email or updated form, I've tried the links I've found on here but it is not working.

The email is from a no reply address.

I found a link to the contact form in the end, not sure why it wasn't working originally but 30 mins later got it.

They had my original at the interview, took it at the first window where they check the documents and when I was called back for the interview the officer actually asked me a question about my divorce before heading me back the original so I'm just at a loss as to why they need it again.

You are double jinxed on the divorce decrees, aren't you? Kinda weird because normally never a problem in that regard for anybody.

So it would seem... finding it hard to get my head round all this right now, just can't believe it keeps getting fired back at us for what appears to be their incompetence.

Of course they send these notifications late on the afternoon so it is then a manic rush to try and get requested information sent out to arrive next day. By the time I'd receive these notifications and printed the forms it was 4.30, ran to the Post office to do special delivery only to be told at 4.50 that I was too late, SD gets picked up at 4.30 and no other options available. So thought I'd try for DX at LHR... slow trip through rush hour traffic and made it with 7 minutes to spare so will be at the embassy tomorrow...hoping someone will look at it straight away so we don't fall foul of yet another weekend.

Just for info - the DX LHR depot is actually open until 6pm, not 4 pm as on the embassy website. Also, yes they are open on Saturdays, but will not except documents in, best option for that scenario is Royal Mail special delivery. Post offices are open on a Saturday morning and they offer special delivery with a 9am guaranteed arrival Monday...obviously this is at a premium, GBP 18.36, but at that point I think most of us don't care about the cost it is just get it there yesterday!!

So...Tuesday the requested document arrives at the Embassy, Wednesday they look at it and then late yesterday afternoon (Thursday) the status is changed to Non Immigrant and Ready, huge sigh of relief. Was so hoping it might get issued today, sadly not. Here we are at yet another weekend and a US holiday on Monday so nothing will happen now until Tuesday :crying:

And, surprise surprise, the embassy have never responded to the enquiry form I completed last week.

DX took 2 days to deliver, despite them assuring me it would be there the next day. Friday. Because of the weekend and a Bank Holiday it didn't arrive until Tuesday.
