Hello)

I was wondering if I need a cosponsor since I make about $19,200 a year (part-time job, student) but my 2015 tax return shows my total wages for that year were $3,758 because I started work in October. However, my most recent check stub says my year to date earnings are $10,274 and I have nearly $5,000 in my savings account.

I know I make above 100% of the federal poverty line, but I'm not sure if my low earnings for 2015 will disqualify me.

Another problem I have is that my possible cosponsor hasn't filed his taxes yet. My dad makes over 400% over the federal poverty line, owns three houses, stocks, 401k, retirement, considerable amount in savings - I have the documents to prove it - only, no tax return for 2015. The best I can do is his W-2 form, letter from employer, and check stubs. Do you think this will be enough?

My fiancé will schedule his interview soon and we expect it to be within the next three weeks.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

You have to make 125% above the poverty line. https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

For every dollar you're short, you have to have 3 dollars in it's place in savings. So let's say you're 1000 dollars short of meeting the guideline, you would need 3000 in your savings account.

What your dad is willing to provide should be enough! Make sure he fills out a form as well :D

Good luck!
