Hi there! I'm currently in the process of obtaining a spouse visa hence I don't have any SSN yet. I'm planning to apply for eligibility to take NCLEX RN in Cali, I just wanted to ask what are the possible things or documents I should be preparing to pass to CA BON while I'm waiting here in the Philippines? I also wanted to ask if I should take TOEFL or wait for the CA BON if they will require me to take it?

Thanks for the input in advance. ?

I'd have CGFNS or other accredited evaluating organizations process your transcripts. You would be required an English exam so you should take that too and have them send your results to the state BON of your choice. Also, try to first ask/call/email your state BON what they really require for someone who is a a foreign nurse or educated internationally.

Hi!

Where can my wife get training to pass the EILTS. Did not quite pass the first time. Would possibly like to hire a tutor. (TOEFL is ok too). Would pay well for someone who knows how. 612-483-6689 tigersmn@gmail.com. She has BSN.

Hi!

You can look up CA Board of Nursing's website and see what you need to obtain to sit for the NCLEX RN. I also recommend reading the forums on allnurses.com to assist you in most of your concerns regarding the examination.

You definitely need to take an English proficiency test. Kindly clarify with the state board's website which one they prefer as it could vary per state.

All the best!

Hi!

You can try looking for IELTS review centers within the area, though I haven't seen one while I was around Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Please check MN Board of Nursing for the specific English Proficiency exam they require. They could have changed their regulations.

As someone who have taken both General Training and Academic IELTS, with an overall band score of 8.0 and no score below 7 on all aspects (not trying to brag here), I can clearly say that hitting anything above the 6.0 mark only takes one thing: PRACTICE.

There are online resources for review materials. To name some:

https://www.ieltsessentials.com/global/prepare/freepracticetests

https://www.ielts.org/about-the-test/sample-test-questions

http://www.testden.com/challenge/free-ielts.asp

Best of luck to your wife!
