Immunizations

Hi folks - anyone know which shots are needed to merely pass the health/physical portion of this process? I know we can have some done here in the US before AOS is granted, but which ones are the bare minimal to gain entry to the US?

Its age related. But most just have to get the Tdap and MMR.

And if I may ask, since your wife is from Thailand - how to get copies of school-age immunizations? The ones that "everyone" gets while attending Public school in Thailand. I'm sure they are in a file cabinet somewhere?

She could not. But even with no records, she just had to have the Tdap and the MMR. Its about 1/2 price to get them done at a different hospital before the medical and bring the record. She had hers done at the "snake farm hospital" near the US Embassy. But if you go there, be careful, they will try and get you to get other shots (flu,tetanus, etc)

I've been worried a lot about this. When I saw the list of immunizations on the Embassy page I was overwhelmed! My fiance doesn't have any vaccination records, and I was worried that the process of having to get so many vaccinations would slow down the interview process. So when I was in Thailand recently we went to Bangkok Pattaya hospital together and met with a doctor in the health clinic. He looked over the list of vaccinations from the Embassy and said that the vaccinations required are really age-based, and he said for my fiance the primary concerns would be tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps, rubella and HEP A & B. So we went ahead and got the tetanus, diphtheria, measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines that day. Then my fiance went back a week later to begin the hepatitis vaccines and goes back in a month to complete that. I hope that will be enough!

Well, You are worrying too much. Like I said, the other hospitals try to get you to get more, like the Hep, but it is not required by the embassy, The Tdap is for tetanus, diphtheria, the MMR is for measles, mumps, rubella.
