What documents should my fiance bring on his next visit?

Fiance is coming to visit next month and staying for a bit while he works on his thesis.

We just got engaged (yay!) so we're planning on getting everything together for his visa application when he's over.

The wedding isn't until September 2017 but we want to be able to have enough wiggle room in the timeline in case everything slows down like it has done in the past.

My question is-- what documents should hubby bring over from the UK for us to have to go with our application? I know we need to sign letters together and get them notarized that say we intend to marry, yadda yadda yadda, but does he need to bring anything from his country like birth certificate type stuff?
