All Dutch citizens bring in their "VOG", that's the police certificate requirement. So, you ask the 'gemeente' for your VOG.

Small edit: If you are registered in the Municipal Records Database (BRP), you should apply at the Population Affairs Department (Burgerzaken/Publiekszaken) of your municipality or you can appoint a representative to apply on your behalf to the Population Affairs Department of the municipality where you are registered in the BRP.

If you are not registered in the BRP, you should apply directly to the Ministry of Justice (Justis) by emailing your application, documents and payment details to vog.np.rni@minvenj.nl

I hope this helps. Good luck on your journey!

Sorry for being asking stupid question but how do i know whether i am registered in BRP? I only have a BSN, is it a proof that I am in the BRP database?

and how long does it take to get the VOG? one week or two weeks?

do i need prepare everything ready before the petition? we just want to speed up the process as much as possible :) long distance really not that fun..

thanks.

Everyone is registered by birth. This means you can take your embassy list to the gemeente and ask them for a VOG. You'll get one with an English translation. However, you can not speed up the process yourself. Have you received a list with things you need to get resdy for your interview, then I suggest you to collect them asap and let them know you're ready to be scheduled for an appointment. That also can take up to a few weeks, depends. I also suggest to fill in your timeline for help but also for other members :-)

Oh hold on, what nationality are you? If not Dutch, as I assume now, you need to e-mail the Ministry of Justice in the second comment I posted. Sorry for the misunderstanding

I am not Dutch but I have been living in the Netherlands for almost five years. I am working here now.

So only with Dutch Nationality, can someone has BRP? do you know how i can find out whether i am registered or not? just call gementee to make sure?

thanks :)

You're not registered because you are not a citizen by birth. This means you need to e-mail Ministry of Justice (Justis) and explain what you need and what application this is about.
