Hi there,

There are two types of I-130 application processing - Adjustment of Status for those in the US and Consular for those outside the US.

Can people who are on Consular processing use the chart DATES FOR FILING or this chart is only for people who are on Adjustment of Status processing?

Thanks

For Adjustment of Status, the chart used to determine whether you can file is whatever chart USCIS posts on here. You don't look at the Department of State site.

For Consular Processing, the process is not initiated by you anyway; they contact you.

OK

For Consular Processing, when will they contact me? When my priority date becomes current according to Application Final Action Dates chart or Dates for Filing Applications chart?

It is important for me because my daughter will be turning 21 during the process and I am trying to figure it out if she stays in F2A category or moves to F2B.
