China K-1 interview appointment vs biometric date

Sorry to disturb for a simple question, but my attempt to find an existing answer with keywords wasn't panning out:

We reserved our interview appointment from the embassy via ustraveldocs, but it was not clear if the date they give, is the date of the interview and we should book tickets for the business day before for biometrics, or is it the date of the biometerics and we should book for a second day to follow for the actual interview?

(as it was explained to me) they just give the one date on the website, and we've not (yet) received any correspondence from the embassy after the packet 4 email for me to understand more (yet). Thanks! Andrew

Separately, we just went through our medical and we'll make a post with the latest on-the-ground findings how the website/packet information doesn't match what you actually need to bring to the medical, primarily several more photos than requested, and a photocopy of your passport's bio page.

Cheers!

1. If you filled out the DS-160, and selected an appointment date from the website, that date is the date of the interview.

2. There is no "biometrics" for the interview. You have been through the medical exam, and need to receive the packet from them that you will bring to the interview.

On a side not to the medical exam. I know you have already done this, but please make sure that it was not performed too much before the interview. The validity of the K-1 visa is based on the date the medical was done. It is recommended to have your medical 1-2 weeks prior to your interview to make sure there is ample time to use the K-1 Visa. Some people are able to get their Visa and come to the US immediately. Others need time to pack, to say good bye, ect...

Thanks for the reply! Yes, we did the medical right at 2 weeks before the interview. Yes, the final steps were so fast that we have the opposite problem: can't close down the house fast enough that we will start using up some of the 6 months...

My now wife has tasked her parents with caring for her home until arrangements can be made on what will be done with the house.
