Good day guys!

I just want to ask how long until the USCIS get back to you after you filed for I-130.We filed for my I-130 at USCIS USembassy manila last April 5,2016.So weve decided to send an email and ask for an update and here's the email that we received as a reply.

-Thank you for contacting USCIS Manila. Your petition is currently under review. The adjudication process takes 30 to 90 days upon receipt. You will be notified in writing when completed. Upon approval it will be transferred to the Dept. of State for the corresponding visa process. Again, Immigrant Visa Unit will notify you as to the next procedural steps prior to visa interview.

Will it really take 30 to 90 days?!cause i saw in some thread that it only took them days or almost a week amd some few days.

We received that reply too, then the following day we received our MNL case number. Just hang in there. :) You may receive your approval within the week or early next week.

I think using email is all but useless.

We also received our approval with case # in 6 business days and that was during Holy week.

As Lhanz said the 30 to 90 days is just their standard reply.

You need to call them if you want any real time answers.

Be prepared with you AOS (I-864) and supporting docs as it can go very fast once you get your case #.

It took us 5 weeks from start to finish, 6 weeks to have my wife's Visa in hand but had we been prepared with our I-864 and docs we could have completed it in 3 weeks.

Hopefully you'll hear from them soon! :)

When I filed ours they told us 30 to 90 days.

I thought I'd wait a month and then start checking on it.

I was very surprised when the approval email arrived so quickly.

Remember most like myself list the time period in business days not counting holidays and weekends.

It may be that since it's been such a short period of time they aren't even bothering to look it up for you.

I'd give it a month before contacting anyone but from my own experience and watching others here will be surprised if it takes that long.

There are a couple of web sites where you can follow your case but I'm not sure how much you can do without a case #?

One is: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/

Good luck! :)

I don't think it will take this long for you (I hope not), but for me it took exactly 3.5 months. Before that, I had to wait months just to go in and hand in my I-130 and supporting documents (which I had ready all along). That made it a total of 5.5 months (wait time for handing in I-130 and response after handing it in)!

However, judging by the other replies here, it seems like the embassy in the Philippines, thankfully, doesn't every lag anywhere near this amount of time I had to wait.

I don't know and won't reply to someone asking about "timelines" in other countries but since OP asked about Phils where my wife and I and some friends we've made along the way just completed our "visa journey" I felt my reply would be helpful.

Ask me about Katmandu and I assure I won't reply but my reply about Phils is just going by facts that we've personally experienced.

MrsHips: we haven't heard back from you in a while now. Have you heard anymore about your application?

When I got my approval the case number is already with it. It was placed in the subject line and body of the email. Try to double check the email that you received :)

First off congratulations!
You're approved and they wouldn't tell you that if they needed more papers from you. :D

I've heard of people like yourself who received an approval email w/o a case # and that's when they would start calling a week or so later to try and get it.

Since we and the friends I mentioned before received a case # with the first approval email notice hopefully someone who received as you have will tell of their experience.

We also received an email the following day from DoS with both our case and conformation #'s.

Think positive.. compared to 30 to 90 days you're doing good.

thanks 7Ken!i think we'll just wait for a week if they're going to send us the # through email cause actually i still need to apply for my ITIN so we can finish my husband's 2015 tax return cause i saw on one of the threads here that if there's no tax return=no visa.we just got his w2s from 2013-2015 and 1040s from 2013-2014.and turbotax keeps on rejecting the application for 2015 tax return because i dont have SSN.

You're welcome and again congrats on your approval.. :)

Yes that's correct, you'll need your AOS (I-864) completed to carry to your final interview.

Remember as I mentioned it can go very fast after you get your case #.

It could be just a matter of weeks if you have all your paperwork in order.

We used figures from 2012, 2013, and a 2014 1040 last month, March 22nd.

I'm not sure what the cut-off date is for being able to use a 2014 1040, April 15?

Good Luck!

Ken
