Hi, I have two questions regarding the K1 visa process.

  1. I am currently living in Peru,(From July 2015 until April 2016) but I will move back to the states in 8 days and would be working since April 19th again. I understand the visa process has a portion where you must provide proof of income above the poverty level to support your fiance. Does the income need to be proven from the beginning of the procedure? Would the period where I did not make income in america (July 2015 to April 2016) affect the chances of getting the visa? What would you recommend in this case?
  2. I am planning to send the I-129 form before April 15th, so i am filling the application already, my question is about the adress portion on the application under "(Part 2 information about your fiance)" The part that states "Address where your fiance intends to live" When I return I will be living at my mothers house but, after we get married we will have an apartment for ourselves. What information do I provide for this part of the application? My mothers address? Or is it ideal to have my own place before submitting the application?

Thanks!

1) You don't need to submit financial evidence until your fiancée has his/her interview, so you will have a couple of months to collect paystubs. I do suggest you check out the regional forum to see what type of evidence your consulate typically require (can vary from country to country).

2) You should put the first address your fiancée intends to live at when she moves over. Since you haven't bought/rented a new home yet, it makes sense to put your current address (parents house), yes? If this changes during the process, it can be updated before she goes for her interview.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.
