Moving to the US on a K-3 - How to book flight?

Not sure if you can do this, or not.. but what about buying two round trip tickets? I'd guess your cost won't be that much higher. If she doesn't "check in" for the going flight, there is nothing to prevent her from using the return flight.

That's not true, airlines get pissed off if you don't use your first flight. I didn't use the middle flight on a multi-destination trip, so the airline cancelled my remaining flight and charged me a bunch of money to rebook.

Just wanted to post a followup. I have been meaning to join AAA for a while so I decided to go there on Saturday morning and renew my membership. I used their travel agency ($50 discount as a 'new' member) to book our flights. It took *1 hour* for the agent to find a decent ticket for me that left on late 5/11 or anytime 5/12 and a ticket together for my wife and I to come back on 5/25. I was unable to get anything through Cathay Pacific (where I have my miles). I wound up with Continental and Japan Air Lines. The price is a little higher than what I was getting online but the departure/return days worked and none of the layovers are over 4 hours. I'm just glad I've got everything booked now. One less thing to worry about!
