I'm trying to establish my resident history with my dad years 1985 thru 1987.
Any ideas how one can prove this???

Does IRS keep dependent records that long?

Any ideas where this type of info anywhere else is kept. Eventhough my citizenship parent had joint and legal custody, my non-citizen parent had physical custody.

I can prove non-citizen parent moved back to Europe while i stayed in the states physically residing with my citizen parent...

But I need as much proof as i can get.... any ideas and ways to acquire information is WELCOME...

Sorry, I'm a little confused; are you trying to prove that you lived in the US or that your father lived in the US? This is a citizenship forum, so I'll assume that you are applying for citizenship.

I assume that you were born abroad and are trying to derive citizenship from your father... in this case, you would need to show only two things:

1- That your father was a USC when you were born.

2- That the "U.S. citizen parent was physically present in United States or its outlying possessions for at least 5 years (2 after age 14) prior to child’s birth."

You, as the applicant, would not have to have ever lived in the US.

Please correct me if I've misunderstood what you're trying to do.

If you are not applying for citizenship and just want to show your resident history for other reasons, then school records, and doctors or hospital records are a good place to look. The IRS may also have records of your father claiming you as a dependent, but I don't know if you can get those or how long they are kept.

No. He's not saying he's a US citizen at birth. He's claiming he got citizenship automatically as a permanent resident minor living in the US with US citizen parents (or in his case, US citizen parent).

Oh ok.

Then just read the last part of my response and ignore the rest.

I'm addressing conditons for qualifying under former INA 321
Forget the other conditions.... I meet them.. Let's focus on the fact my citizen father recieved joint and legal custody while my non-citizen mother got physical custody.

Eventhough my non citizen mother got physical custody, I have always resided with my citizen father. We're talking 1987..... so what I need are ways to prove I was residing with the citizen parent..

What I wrote in my first reply is all I can think of. Maybe others can add more. This is what most people in your situation have presented as evidence. If you were very young, you could also look into vaccination records. If you were older, then you were probably enrolled in a school. Edited by JimmyHou
