ITIN Number and Filling to Bring spouse to The US

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and I need help with the ITIN Number.

I got married last August and I just recently became a U.S citizen. I am about to start the procedure to bring my wife here. Since we are in tax season, I need to file my taxes as married filling jointly, because of the financial advantage of doing so. My questions are: do I need to wait for the ITIN Number before I can start the I130? also, do I need to send copies of my annual income taxes, including 2015's with my I130? Do you recommend that I file the I130 myself or should I seek help from and advisor?

  1. do I need to wait for the ITIN Number before I can start the I130? Nope Financial documents will be part of your AOS(Affidavit of support) package and thats at the NVC stage after your I-130 is approved. Months after filing
  2. do I need to send copies of my annual income taxes, including 2015's with my I130? No financials are part of the I-130. Be sure to click on the guides at top of the page to get a list of things to include in your I-130 package.
  3. Do you recommend that I file the I130 myself or should I seek help from and advisor? You can easily file yourself. Read the guides it's pretty easy and free.
