Hi VJers!

So here we go again, it is now time for me to apply for my citizenship. am currently a green card holder, and have removed condition. Ihave lived here about 6 years or so.

I have just recieved the N-400, and totally intimidated about answering the questions correctly. So the question abot all prior address in the US, i really have noidea how to answer! I have moved so much,at least 5 times, and there is no way to know the barely knowwhat month, let aloe day of which I moved. I want to answer the questions honestly, but I would be guessing at best. I THINK, that I filled online change of address with USCIS after every move.

Secondly, not sure how to answer criminal history questions. When I was 17 I commited petty theft. Was never arrested but it was on my criminal record. At my green card interview, the immigration officer looked over my background check, along with a letter from a police officer that had basically said I had not been in trouble since, and completed a anti theft program. At the time I comitted the crime, they did not have room or time to process me at the jail, so it was basically a caution, although it did stay on file. The immigratin officer said it was not enough to disqualify me from getting a green card.

If anyone can advise me in anyway I would be greatful, I am hoping to not have to pay for a lawyer as I am not financially prepaired :(

My husband had the same question about a minor crime 30 years prior to his application. But it was on his green card application and so of course we knew they already knew about it so he had to include it.

Your credit report may have some of your old addresses. Especially if you have rented an apartment, bought or leased a vehicle, applied for a credit card or changed jobs. It's worth getting a copy as you're entitled to one free copy a year from all three bureaus.
