Good morning VJ members! I just got great news this morning that my request to expedite case in Jamaica has been approved. I'm so excited that my husband is that much closer to being here. But my question is what happens next? the email states that they will be sending my file immediately to Jamaica and that I should work directly with Jamaica going forward. Just wanted to hear from anyone that has expedite approved in Jamaica is there anything I must do now or should I just wait to be contacted by Embassy?

Thanks, I appreciate any insight you are able to provide!

I did not get an expedite approved in Jamaica, but I did just get one approved in Peru. It took about a week for the embassy to recieve the package sent by NVC, and then about 3 days later to recieve the packet with the interview date (via email) and the additional documents needed at the time of the interview. I am not going to lie, I thought having the case expedited would also mean an expedited interview date, but the scheduling of the interview still fell in line with the typical scheduling timeline for those who were not expedited (about a 1.5 months out). Hopefully in Jamaica they will get you in sooner. The good news, there is finally a light at the end of the ridiculously long immigration tunnel! Good Luck!

Thank you JillianEdgar, I appreciate you sharing your experience... the normal wait in Jamaica for interview once case complete is 3-4 months which is excessive to say the least. I'm hoping we will get an interview date next month, God willing :)

Hello!

I did have an expedite approved in Jamaica for a CR-1. My expedite was approved last August. After I got the approval from NVC, and the file was sent to Kingston, they contacted my husband by phone and myself by email about the medical and the interview. It was VERY quick! 5 days after our file left NVC, we got the interview packet and the interview was two weeks later!

If you have any specific questions about CR1 and Jamaica, feel free to send me a message! Good luck! Things will FLY by from here!
