I am from Australia and had my mum send me my original birth certificate express mail, more than 2 weeks ago and it is not here yet. I am sure it got delayed due to christmas holidays......do they always ask for the original birth certificate? my husband a us citizen has his. I am just worried not having it will delay my case.....can anyone shed some light?

just a thought, Have your sponsor and you take a 'joint affidavit of true document' made and take it to the interview just in case the original bc does not arrive in time.i am assuming you have a copy of your bc if not , have the family back home scan it and send it to you, on the basis of which you will be able to make this affidavit and have it self attested.
