San Francisco City Hall Marriage License question

Can anyone who got married at SFCH provide some insight to their process/experience? We were married on 12/23/15 and the JOTP told us to check online for when the license would be ready but the website just says we can apply for the license (apply for them to search for it) but we read in one part of the website that it takes 10 days and in another part it said 4-6 weeks for it to be searchable.

It is unclear if we should apply for it online now or if we should wait, or if we will be contacted when it is ready. Did anyone use this venue and if yes, how long did it take and how did you know when it was ready? Thank you.
