Hi everyone!

So my American Fiancee and I (English citizen) are about to file out I-129f application! I am getting so nervous now and have gone through everything 100 times! I have read a few forums that say you need a "personal statement" of about a page explaining the relationship and a few details. Is this needed? And what about letters from friends and family verifying the relationship - is that helpful at this stage?

If someone could please let me know that would be so great! So far this is what I have in the package...

  • Form G-1145 E-notification
  • Payment in the amount of $340
  • I-129F
  • I-129F Supplement: Part 2, Question 34.a, explanation of meeting in person
  • G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner)
  • G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary)
  • Birth certificate/US Passport (Petitioner)
  • Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)
  • Proof of having met in person in the past two years ... E.g. photos, emails, plane tickets, boarding passes, hotel statements, trips etc.
  • Proof of ongoing relationship

I just want to get everything right as we hate being so far apart - espeically at Christmas!

I look forward to hearing your experiences :) Thanks so much! Kelly

No, that is needed for the interview. The affidavits from others is secondary evidence but doesn't hurt. Many folks, especially for certain Embassies (not yours) will front load relationship evidence with the petition submittal. Your choice.

This is not needed at this stage. Pictures of both of you, chats messages, emails, etc. would be enough.
