Hello fellow visa journey posters!

I know I'm relatively new to this forum and I have posted one other time, but a lot of things have happened since my last posting that I need to get out there and share with my visa journey community! Since my last posting, in October, my wife and I received our interview notice! It was such a huge relief and we took the entire month of November to prepare for it. So yesterday, Dec 10th, was the big day! We got up early and made sure again and again that we had everything together before we took the one hour trip to the field office. We get to the city with a couple hours to spare and rightfully so, we had some lunch and we gathered our surroundings to make sure we knew where we were going. 40 minutes before our interview we go into the federal building and this is about the time that my heart sank and here's why....

When we approached the security officer and he asked us where we were headed, I informed him for an immigration interview. He looked at us with "I'm sorry" eyes and said that there was a bomb threat earlier in the morning and the USCIS field office was closed for the rest of the day. It felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest. I have prepared so much to help my wife get her GC and all of that felt shattered within a minute. He informed us that they would call us to reschedule.

About 30 minutes before our appointment time a representative for the USCIS called my wife and informed her of what happened and that he said they are going to reschedule all of the appointments for yesterday and we will be notified soon. After that phone call, we took the long and hard hour journey back home. I felt so depressed yesterday that I could not think of anything else I wanted to do for the entire day. I took the time off of work and that ate into my vacation time, which I do not accumulate much of right now... And now I will have to prepare again for another day off, whenever that will be.

I just want to let all of you know that if you are stressed or nervous about your paperwork or interviews, you are not alone! Things like this can happen at any moment. And now my wife and I are at the mercy of waiting to get another interview, even though our paperwork is deemed worthy to be reviewed now.

So to all of you, working towards your journey of getting citizenship, please be patient and have hope! It will be a long road, but once that road is at it's end, the reward will be much greater than all of the difficulty!

You write pretty well. Sorry to hear of the interview rescheduling. Crazy people doing crazy things. Good for them to take precaution. You will get a new date, it wasn't your fault. The when, well that will be seen.

All the best with the upcoming interview.
