Hello,

I got my GC through spouse, but never applied for citizenship even after the conditions were removed. Now, it's been more than 5 years as a PR and I'm applying for citizenship. I was going through the form and came across some confusing questions and am hoping that someone here can help me with them.

Part 1. Eligibility Info - This is just to confirm, since I've been on the PR for more than 5 years, I can just check this and not worry about checking the second box that mentions about spouse?

Part 9 - Marital History , Q8: How many times has your current spouse been married - My spouse has only been married to me, so I'm assuming this answer should be 1. Correct?

Part 11 - Additional Information Q46: Are you a male who lived in US at any time between 18th-26th birthdays (This does not include living in US as lawful nonimmigrant) - I was here on an student visa (F1) during that time, so I was a lawful nonimmigrant. So should I say Yes or No, or just not answer it?

Also, am I correct in understanding that I DO NOT need to show any marriage or joint bank/tax statements etc. since I'm doing this on the basis of being a PR for more than 5 years?

USCIS really needs to update some of the text in this form to avoid these confusions :)

Thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it.

Part 1. Yes! Check in box 1 since I've been on the PR for more than 5 years and to avoid complex documentation that required by USCIS. Even though, you must disclose your spouse information.

Part 9. Yes! Type 1 in the box.

Part 11 - Q.46. Since you were on F1 Visa during that time, it is not required that you must register with SSS. However, if you registered, check "Yes" and provide the information. Otherwise, just check "No". To be sure, you can request a "Status Information Letter" from SSS Office by fill in the form https://www.sss.gov/Portals/0/PDFs/Status.pdf. Also submit the proof along with the request letter that you were here legally by attaching I-94 with entry stamp on it, passport, school transcript, copies of your I-20s or a letter from the school you attended indicating your full time attendance as a non-immigrant and so on. After they review it, they will send you a letter to confirm your status. Bring it to the interview.

Also your file under 5 years rule and you don't need to show any documentation you listed, do bring it to the interview. The IO may ask you about that.
