I sent my I-129F by post from New Zealand on Feb 15th and still haven't received a notice of receipt (NOA1). I'm probably a being a bit impatient as it probably took a week to get there. I did include my email address on the form, will they always email you to advise they've sent out the receipt letter or do they just send the letter without emailing?

They won't email you for an NOA1.

Once you have your receipt number (from your noa1 or back of canceled check) you can sign up at USCIS and they will email you when your NOA2/approval is complete - if you check that box on their web sight.

I also wouldn't depend too much on the system. I received an approval letter for my husband's I-130 and it is still "Pending" on the website. I'd just stake out your mailbox!! :jest:

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.
