Paranoid after sending documents to Montreal through Loomis

I have a question for anyone who can help me here, I had to send in a missing Birth Certificate to Montreal after my K-1 interview.


I sent my Birth certificate, Courier-in Receipt and Passport Via Loomis a few days ago, I forgot to include a copy of the instructions page from the usvisa-info website which has my MTL case number on it (it said to include that in the courier envelope), will this be an issue? Im sure they can look up my file with the passport and courier receipt?

Im probably just paranoid over nothing...

It shouldn't be an issue. Did you ONLY include your passport and birth cert?

I'm sure they should be able to look it up.


My fiance wrote his case number on the brown envelope he had it in, and we also included a cover letter detailing what was inside with his contact information and case number, as on the 221(g) it said to send the documents with your name, case number, address, and email address.. All with the documents they requested, we had the loomis letter and a copy of the 221(g) included with the documents. We made it so there would be no question who's case the papers went too.

They can tie it together with your passport and courier receipt, it just might add a little bit of extra time potentially.

Keep checking CEAC to check for updates, and as long as you know that LOOMIS did deliver to Montreal then you know they have them. Loomis gave my fiance a tracking number in which we stalked it until it was delivered to Montreal lol.

Yeah I had no brown envelope, just the certificate, passport and courier receipt in the loomis package

If anything it may add some delay time, as they're going to have to search up for the info and then put it all together. While it may not actually be any work, in the paper world any extra paperwork needing to be done is work to them. There's a chance they could go through it and hand it to some poor guy who's job is to match documents to cases, then print out info for them, and give it back to those who do the approvals.

There was a post that helped me a while back and tried to explain the process.

Once they take you off AP and it goes to ready it most likely means that it went through the proper channels and was approved.
It then goes to ready non immigrant, and all of the info is passed on to those who deal with that.
Once they have it, it goes on AP as that next set of people work on it
Once they've completed their job, it goes on issued

So since the documents go through multiple hands just as a normal part, I'd assume that there's someone dedicated to putting documents they receive with cases, so it doesn't clog up any one elses time as it passes on through.

Yeah they should get it on Monday. I doubt they do anything on Saturdays, plus the consulate is closed saturdays. If they gave you a shipment/waybill/reference number you can track your parcel here: http://www.loomis-express.com/webship/wfTrackingForm.aspx

But yeah I would imagine they get it on Monday.

Once Montreal has it, the only way to keep an eye on it is through CEAC.
