Hi All,

I was hoping that those people which may have recently completed there NVC Consular Processing who also interviewed at the US Embassy in London could help answer some questions I had primarily around timelines.

I am a UK citizen and had my Immigrant Visa petitioned via the employment route. My I-140 was approved on October 21st and sent to the Department of State / NVC) on October 30th. My company attorney is effectively acting as my agent as they completed and submitted my I-140 application on behalf of my employer. My Priority Date is also Current.

My questions:

1. When the NVC receives your petition from USCIS do you know if you are personally notified by mail that your application was received by them? I wasn't sure if it was just your agent (in my case, company attorney) that would receive this acknowledgement mail or whether the beneficiary also receives the mail.

2. How long after your application (I-140 OR I-130) was approved by USCIS was you or your agent informed to Pay the "Fee Bill"? Typically they say 5 - 8 weeks but just wanted to know if anyone has received this sooner or even a lot later.

3. After Submission of the photo copies of all civil documents and completion of form DS-260 how long did it take for the NVC to review and approve these? I think they specify a "60 day" review period for these forms and documents but i just wanted to know what the timescales were in other peoples experiences.

4. After receiving approval of your DS-260 and Civil Documents, how long did it take for you to attend your interview at the US embassy in London? I know the US consulate in London is very busy so just wanted to know if you had to wait a matter of weeks or months after approval of civil docs and form DS-260.

5. After the interview, how long was your Immigrant Visa valid for? I thought that the immigrant visa was valid for 6 months, thus enabling you to enter the USA within 6 months after the immigrant visa being produced. But my attorney has informed me that once the immigrant visa is produced I only have 1 month to move to the USA.

Would be great to hear from someone that has recently completed some of these processes.

Many Thanks

All of your questions are not UK related. Everybody going through NVC processing is in the same NVC boat, no matter what country.
