I have a quick question on how one's name should be properly displayed on the permanent resident card. My wife recently received her green card in the mail last week. Due to privacy issues, I have not listed real names. Let's say for example, she has 2 first names, Mary Jane and a maiden name of Smith. Upon marriage, she took my last name which was Jones. Her new legal name now becomes, first name: "Mary Jane" middle name: "Smith" last name: "Jones". The green card that she recently received displays the first name correctly as "Mary Jane", however the surname section now reads: "Smith Jones". Is it common practice for USCIS to print the middle name before the last name in the surname section of the green card, or should it be placed after her 2 first names? Any insight is much appreciated. I have tried calling USCIS and in typical fashion, they did not have much insight into the matter.

Randy.
