Hi, I was wondering if anyone had been in a similar situation and could help me out.

When I recieved my GC, there was an error in the name, so I e-filed an I-90 form. I've been given an appointment, and the closest office is a 3 hour drive. Unfortunately, I don't drive - I only arrived < 2 months ago.

That means that my wife is going to have to drive me, and she will miss 7+ hours of work.

The appointment is fairly early, so we may need to leave the night before, and if it is snowing by then, roads may be closed and a different route may need to be taken. We're in Wyoming, so taking another route could easily add an hour to the drive.

I called the USCIS call center today, and the guy told me that no compensation is available for transport (fuel), and missed wages.

This is their fault, so I think its only fair that they cover my expenses. To be honest, I don't think I should have to go to an appointment. I reported the error the day I received the card, and I know they have my biometrics and photo on file, so I don't see why they can't just take the erroneous card, and issue a new card.

Anyway, rant over. I appreciate any help/advice. Why is this all so stressful?!
