Hi, my spouse has an interview scheduled on October 5th 2015 at Mumbai embassy for the CR1 Visa. She scheduled for medical on September 28th 2015, but the physician told her she won't be able to get the required vaccinations until a week because of the medications she was currently on (She fell ill about a week ago and is currently on antibiotics). My question is can she still go for the interview without the medical and then submit the medical to the consulate after the interview? Or, should we cancel and try to reschedule the interview? I am afraid if we reschedule we might not get a date again quickly.

Any response is appreciated.

Thank you,
Akshay

No you have to do the medical before the interview.

Applicants without both the medical report AND police clearance certificate will not be allowed entry into U.S. Embassy New Delhi or U.S. Consulate Mumbai. If you do not have your Indian police clearance certificate in time, you need to reschedule your appointment for a later date. If there is a problem with your medical report, the Panel Physician will give you separate instructions.

you will have to check with the Mumbai consulate if they let you appear for the interview and then get the shots later. But even if they do , you would still be put on AP. better not take any chances. cancel your appointment ; get your medical reports in hand and then schedule one. its always good to be prepared with all the documentation part for an interview.

Yes you can attend the interview without the medical, you just will not get a definite approval on the day of the interview, you will receive a 221g and given time to submit the medical.

i would still suggest to reschedule the appointment since its only reduces one negative from your end. since the website clearly states that you should have your medical reports to enter the embassy / consulate. better late than never. i have heard of cases where people have been interviewed without it but why take a chance. all the best. !!
